An audio card, or the audio function built into a motherboard provide audio signals in and out of the PC. The Headphone out port provides headphone level signals from MP3 or other audio out programs. The Microphone In jack is used to attach a microphone to bring in audio signals that a native program like Sound Recorder uses for recording. Other add-on programs can make use of this port as well. The Speaker out port provides audio signals from MP3 and other audio out programs to speakers connected the port. There are two types of speakers:
